Birthday Wish
Little Bobby came into the kitchen where his mother was making dinner. His birthday was coming up and he thought this was a good time to tell his mother what he wanted.
"Mom, I want a bike for my birthday." Little Bobby was a bit of a troublemaker. He had gotten into trouble at school and at home. Bobby's mother asked him if he thought he deserved to get a bike for his birthday.
Little Bobby, of course, thought he did.
Bobby's mother, being a Christian woman, wanted Bobby to reflect on his behavior over the last year. "Go to your room, Bobby, and think about how you have behaved this year. Then write a letter to God and tell him why you deserve a bike for your birthday." Little Bobby stomped up the steps to his room and sat down to write God a letter.
Letter 1
Dear God,
I have been a very good boy this year and I would like a bike for my
birthday. I want a red one.
Your friend,
Bobby
Bobby knew that this wasn't true. He had not been a very good boy this year, so he tore up the letter and started over.
Letter 2
Dear God,
This is your friend Bobby. I have been a good boy this year and I would like a red bike for my birthday.
Thank you.
Your friend
Bobby Bobby knew that this wasn't true either. So, he tore up the letter and started again.
Letter 3
Dear God,
I have been an "OK "boy this year. I still would really like a bike for my birthday.
Bobby
Bobby knew he could not send this letter to God either. So, Bobby wrote a fourth letter.
Letter 4
God,
I know I haven't been a good boy this year. I am very sorry. I will be a good boy if you just send me a bike for my birthday. Please!
Thank you,
Bobby
Bobby knew, even if it was true, this letter was not going to get him a bike. Now, Bobby was very upset. He went downstairs and told his mom that he wanted to go to church. Bobby's mother thought her plan had worked, as Bobby looked very sad.
"Just be home in time for dinner," Bobby's mother told him.
Bobby walked down the street to the church on the corner. Little Bobby went into the church and up to the altar. He looked around to see if anyone was there. Bobby bent down and picked up a statue of the Virgin Mary. He slipped the statue under his shirt and ran out of the church, down the street, into the house, and up to his room. He shut the door to his room and sat down with a piece of paper and a pen. Bobby began to write his letter to God.
Letter 5
God,
I'VE GOT YOUR MAMA. IF YOU WANT TO SEE HER AGAIN, SEND THE BIKE!
Signed,
YOU KNOW WHO

wow. it's been a long time since i blogged. Been busy and yah, i didn't have anything interesting to blog.. dun wanna blog the usual ' i went there and met so and so and talked and so on and so forth ' heh =P
Had my Farewell Ceremony yesterday... Quite a memorable ceremony which started with Mr Wee leading us in Chapel and i must say, this is the second time that i'm exceptionally attentive in Chapel ( other than my first experience at chapel last year). The usual hymns were sung including his favourite hymn '
I don't know about tomorrow '.. haha.. It happens to be one of my favourite hymns too.. haha.. Must be his constant playing in chapel that influenced my liking for this song.. haha
It was followed by some speeches by the Pastor Joshua, Principal, Wayne... Then came the funniest moment.. The video presentation of all the teachers by the AVA club.. haha.. the teachers were hilariously cute! haha.. Didn't know that some of them were actually that shy, as shy as some kid! haha.. The part that i couldn't stop laughing was the words that flashed after Mr Koh gave us his best wishes.. it said something like ' Edmund is losing weight at a rate of 1kg per day and if this carries on, he would be seriously underweight by the year 3016! '
hahaha.. SO MEAN LORH ( but super hilarious ) =P
The two songs sang by the teachers were also quite cool!! One of which was '
Friends by Michael W. Smith " haha.. For the FIRST time, Mr Koh's wearing a tie! hahaha.. Everyone was like... Mr Koh wore a tieee!! *astonishing look* Coz he would always come to class with his big shirt showing much of his gold necklace.. hahaha
but nonetheless, he is damn cool! his lame jokes and his constant help + explanation of simple chemistry stuff ( yah.. i'm not smart.. haha ) has given me a passion to strive for Chemistry and do well..
haha..
The ceremony ended with the singing of the school song and i was quite shocked to see everybody singing their hearts out one last time.. it was different from the morning assemblies when alot would just keep quiet and stare at God knows what.. haha
What surprised me most was that after the whole ceremony ended, the cohort was told to stay back while the guests leaved the hall, a group of saints from S52 stood up and started singing the College Hymn, soon after, the whole cohort stood up and sang as one voice, one family.. The unity and pride for the school was great! It was a memory that would definitely stay in my heart for a long long time..
The end of one chapter of my life and the beginning of another chapter in a few months' time. A chapter that would be green in colour and when you throw that chapter from the book of my life into a jungle, no one wuld be able to to find it! coz it's well camouflaged! hahaha
Time really flies, huh?
Oh yah! We say the
Saints (the whole Saints family including SAJC) President Star Charity bus outside the school bus stop!! hahaha
Some of the photos taken yesterday can be found in my
online photo album..
