By now, 3/4 of my guy friends are all in NS and somehow i feel kinda sad that i'm not going NS early. Not that i love NS, just that when i go in in July, i won't know anybody. Also, by end april, all the guys i know would be in NS and there i would be rotting my life away. Whee-eee. haha. I know this sounds crazy but i have this urge to go NS early and BE THE NORM. haha.. hokay.
Here's a NS story that i picked out while blog surfing.. sounds quite scary eh?

The Toilet

This incident happens during is BMT (Basic Military Training) in Pulau Tekong.

Just a little background on Tekong, the present camp is situated on top of a Muslim cemetery. Recruits, in the first few weeks of staying, are often asked not to eat pork or take pork into Tekong and to camp. The sergeants always say it is not to offend the fellow Malay recruits but everyone knows that it is not to offend the “underworld”. Every night before we sleep, or “light-off” as the term army uses, the sergeants will always force us to drink a litre of water, so as not to dehydrate in next day’s training. Ask any army guy and he will most likely tell you that they always dread having wake up in the middle of the night to go a Tekong toilet alone, to pee.

This is what happened to my friend’s bunkmate. His friend P, for simplicity use, needs to go the toilet in the middle of the night. So he ask his pairing buddy D (everyone is assigned to a buddy in camp), to accompany him to the toilet. This was, of course, a usual practice in camps. So P was in the toilet “doing his business”, and whistling and D was outside the toilet, half asleep. After quite some time, P was still in the toilet whistling and D was kind of restless. So D asked P if he is done, but P did not answered, and continued whistling. D climbed up the cubicle to see if P was finished or somehow asleep. But when he looked into the cubicle, there was no one in it, and the whistling stopped! When D climbed down, the whistling continued. D was of course scared, and told P that he is tired and wanted to go back to sleep. P finally spoke and said, “Are you tired or do you already know?” D ran back to his bunk and bed to hide and sleep.

The next day, D asked P if he had woke him up last night to go to toilet, and P said no. Somehow guys can always sense is someone is playing a trick or not, and in this case, it is definitely not a trick or prank.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad. Was at CMBP just now and i just got downgraded from PES A to PES D. okay.. My enlistment on the 1st of April has been cancelled until further notice which is after i go for my medical checkup again on the 24th of July, which means that i'll be going in in probably around Aug/sept this year. I can apply for disruption of NS when uni starts but i have to pay back the remaining days of service after i graduate.
I wanna see if it's possible to defer NS again and go Uni first then go NS.. but with my sucky SAT results ( i missed the jan 2004 one coz of the Operation), i have to consider again.
If i go NS first, that gives me the chance to study for May's SAT and take it.. HumPh!

Should i be happy or sad???????????????

okay.. i know that you guys are gonna say that it's easy.. but hey! i only opened the book on the way to work on the day of the test itself!

ah.. am downloading the new season of charmed episodes now coz will take a few montjs before it comes out in on tv in sg.. by that time i'll be in NS! humph! does anybody already have the whole season?? message me! 'coz download is quite slow..

Guess whos back, back again

yeah! back from the 1 week and 1 day of loneliness.. back from the hospital! ah..
Was hospitalised since last friday cause of food poisoning at 2am and after seeing the doctor, i had to be observed for another day coz i had abdominal pains.. so i stayed and guess what? they said that i may have either appenditis coz of the intense vormitting or perforated stomach walls.. so i had to stay another day.. an X-ray was done and the folllowing day, a CAT scan ( both of which i have the original copies and i think it's damn cool!!!!) which hurt like hell, the magnetic field did something to the crappy water i drank before the scan.. If i'm not wrong, it's also called MRI scan..
Sunday was the scariest day! the Doctors sent me to the ICU to increase my blood pressure from 75 (very low) to 125(normal).. CAT scan results were out after that and i needed immediate operation which sucked! Fortunately, Fr. Iggy rushed down to give me the Sacrement of the Sick before i went in.. it felt much better knowing that i Jesus is with me.
The operating room is huge! huge! i tell you! and it's super clean.. with a leather bed in the middle and many many lights right above it.. yeah..
Operation took 1 hr and recovery took 2 hrs.. They did a Laparotomy, which is an exploration of the stomach when i've been cut open and Appenditomy, the removal of my appendix.
The oxygen from the oxygen mask is extremely overwhelming.
Was then sent to the ICA ( Intermediate Care Area, a step lower than ICU) for the next 4 days before i was sent back to the general ward. The B2 class general ward that i was in was super special leh. It's like a private room, with aircon and Television! It was made during the SARS period.. yeah.. i got to enjoy the A class wards stuff with the price of B2 class wards.
The food there sucks! BLEND! NO TASTE! Totally tasteless. GOsh. The milo was like super diluted.
Oh yah, and i can swear that they poked me more than 10 times with needles and drip points!
I was on drip most of the time and i had drip points on my arms and neck.. 2-3 on each arm and 1 on the neck.. the drip caused my body to be bloated up and that stinks! My hands, arms, hips and foot are the huge man..
Was tubified most of the time..
They shove a tube into my bladder too and they also made another hole in my right abs for another tube to drain the fluid from the area which laid the appendix which was gangrin before they took it out.
And happily, the 11-13cm vertical cut down my lower abs was stapled together and not stitch.. i'm now damn scared of the pain when they take it out on the 2/2.

I'll be stuck at home for the next few weeks.. sigh.. but the only thing i'm looking forward to now is that my brother has ordered Finding Nemo, Pirates of the Carribbean and The Indiana Jones Trilogy dvds due on mon or tue..

woooooot! Yesterday was superbly tiring! Day started out at 8.45 in church then meeting jas for the NTU seminar at Bugis at 11am... which ended at two.. and Chemical and Biomolecular engineering really got my attention, it's a mixture of 6 disciplines.. can't really remember all the 6 disciplines.. but it's damn cool!! It's either this or Marine Biology or something else? (i hope not)
It also got me thinking about my A level results.. i don't know whether i can make it after getting the results.. sigh..
Then we watched School of Rock! it's damn cooooool!!!! it's worth another 8.50 man! really dun mind watching it again.. haha.. And I realised something, i think the schoolboard in this blog is the one used in School of Rock! =P went shopping myself and got myself a long sleeve t-shirt which looked really really cool before meeting the clique guys at 6.30pm for dinner.. they came only at 7.30pm.. haha..
And as usual, we became a public nuisance at marche.. it was quite bad.. everyone was looking at us.. hahahaha.... and we saw Linda........................................ gosh. It was quite a terrifying, petrifying, mortifying experience.. sent shivers down mah spine.. hahaha

Oh yah! never never ever drink the night before you go to work.. it's bad.. really bad.. haha.. we were at denise's place (and her place is damn niceeeeeeee!!!!) for jaime's farewell thingy after dinner and schweeet, we played the circle of death again.. this time it's Ribena + Vodka and shots of tequila. Madness i tell you..especially when you keep getting bombarded with drinks.. =P Was damn seh at about 2.30am when we were about to leave.. ah.. and we didn't have to get our arses home taking a cabbie.. Fong was kind enough to send us all home and i think he travelled around snigapore.. From serangoon to farrer roar to clementi to bukit timah then back to serangoon then to east coast.. Fong, if u're reading this.. Thanks man!

You know what? I shouldn't have helped you. I've regretted it from the day i helped you. And now... u're making my life miserable day by day. Are you happy now? You go around telling others things in favour of you when the problem was only between us.. you made it into everybody's problem. Fine, do it. I won't do anything, but when i've had enough.. i'll hit hard.

Just woke up.. hahaha.. from my long sleep! Gonna go church later..
The chalet was superb! the turnout was quite good too.. with about 15 people turning up on the first day for the barbarque.. i was there late, very late coz of work.. Went there with addy and for the first time in my life i didn't have to start a bbq fire =PP. haha.. the food was extremely good! Thanks Walid, Junli and Jessica! Although it was abit off budget, but it still quite delicious. Some special food we did were cheese prawns and cheese potatos.. haha. the cheesy stuff brought the idea of Chocolate Bananas and Cheese Potatos for dinner the following night.. It ended off with half of us in the chalet talking and the other half out there at 1+2+, eating and sharing jokes.. all kinds of jokes =P
Played the Circle of Death throughout the night until 6am.. and trust me.. it ain't fun.. we used a deck of cards to play.. 1-7 are water cards, which means the person who has one of the cards can distribute the cups of water to anyone or everyone. 8 and 9 are toilet cards.. very very important cards.. Picture cards are truth cards whild aces are dare cards.. haha.. i didn't piss before the game and suffered the full extent of about 15 cups of water.. quite bad lah.. and i didn't have any toilet cards then.. haha
Koustav left at 5.45 in the morning followed by Andrea, Clarisse and Addy at 8am.. and Jessica and Allan at 11am.. that leaves Walid, Jaime and Me.. haha.. Walid didn't really sleep.. jaime and i slept the longest.. woke up at around 2pm =P
Went swimming and suntanning once we woke up =P
at about 8-9pm.. those who left in the morning all made their way back home for the highly anticipated Circle Of Death with alcohol.. haha.. but it didn't happen.. we were too broke! =P
Went to play bowling at about 9.. and i have to say.. I suck in bowling =P Shall not talk about it! hahaha.. Only those who were there knew what happened =PP
I learnt how to play Bridge back at the chalet after bowling and I LOVE THE GAME!!!!!!!! After winning my first game, i was quite addicted to it! =P
Spent the first part of the night kopping red ambers from other bbq pits coz we were short of charcoals and started the fire.. haha.. eventually, the pit was hot enough to start cooking the chocolate bananas and cheese potatos! And i think the next clique BBQ at around 24jan, if possible, will be (like what jaime would put it) a Gourmet bbq. All the funny stuff, no Chicken wings and all the usual stuff! heh.
Night ended off rather early for me (3+am) coz i was very very tired.. the others were talking outside at the pit.. haha =P
Woke up at 9+ and checked out at 10..
In all.. the Chalet was supeb!!! Can't wait for the next outing with the rest =P

Have got another Chalet on the 30th of Jan to the 1st Feb... wheeeeeeeeee!! Chalet mania! This time it's not organised by me.. Secondary School chalet!! haha

Oh yah.. work kinda sucked.. i was told that i'll be doing computer stuff like scanning but instead, i was there sorting out all the insurance documents.. and i think i touched about 1300 papers in that 9 hours that day and read about 700 pieces of insurance documents.. ah. Tiring!

Just got back dinner at No Signboard Restaurant to celebrate my bro's birthday ( 2 days before the actual day coz i won't be at home on the 3rd)... The seafood there is superb! Deeeeeelicious!

Another cool thing is that it's my Dog's birthday today! haha! Born on 1/1/1997.. Cool huh? Bought him a BBQ chicken wing.. his favourite.. haha.. he was enjoying every minute of it.. haha..

And work starts tomorrow! gosh. Office formal wear!
